I just watched The Grey and I have to say I'm impressed. Now mind I don't like seeing wolves shown as ravaging monsters. They're not. True, they are known to attack people either out of fear or, in some unconfirmed instances, revenge. Still though, those are rare instances to begin with.

Anyway, the plot itself interested me. It is a survival movie and I like those types of movies. How far can the human mind and body go before it breaks down? What does a person do when they come up against daunting odds? How do they survive? That's what I saw in this movie. They characters were not just fighting wolves, they were fighting the elements as well. Alaska is the largest state in the U.S. and one of the most brutal. Winters are harsh and if you don't respect the environment up there you won't survive.

So, if you like reading or watching about survival I would recommend this movie. Just try and remember its a movie and real wolves wouldn't act that aggressive in real life.

((Hey A_T,

Anytime I see "The Grey" I keep thinking about aliens from X-Com. Sorry... just my odd ability to link stuff together. ))

I liked it, agree that the wolves weren't realistically depicted.

The language of the oil field workers was real mild when compared to some of the ones I've been around in real life.

Yeah, I'm sure a massive pack of Grey wolves are just going to leisurely let you tramp through their territory and across the front porch of their FRICKIN' DEN!

That aside, I too agree that The Grey was a fantastic movie. Liam Neeson is quickly solidifying his position as a magnificent actor and after seeing the trailer for Taken 2, I eagerly await more movies from him.
